4-Roll Packing Calender

4-Roll Packing Calender

Model:KXT-4PC
Kaxite KXT-4PC is a four-roll packing calender that shapes finished braided gland packing evenly on all four faces in one pass. Powered by a 1.5 kW motor at 380V/50Hz, it handles 3–40 mm cross-sections and ships with 12 mould sets as standard — custom mould sizes available. Compact floor-standing unit at 0.9 × 0.8 × 1.8 m, ≈200 kg. Compared with the 2-roll KXT-2PC, it delivers tighter cross-section tolerance and higher throughput. Runs directly downstream of your braiding machine and works with PTFE, graphite, aramid and Kynol braid. Factory-direct price, PDF datasheet, quotation within 24 hours.
Model KXT-4PC · Four-Roll Packing Calender

4-Roll Packing Calender for Braided Gland Packing — 1.5 kW Motor, 3–40 mm Range, Custom Moulds, Factory Price

Kaxite KXT-4PC is the four-roll version of our packing calender, built for sealing manufacturers who run higher braiding volume or need a tighter cross-section tolerance than a two-roll machine can hold. Four rolls apply pressure from two directions at once, so the braid is shaped evenly on all four faces in a single pass — less ovality, less spring-back, more metres per shift. 1.5 kW motor at 380 V / 50 Hz, working range 3 mm to 40 mm, 12 standard mould sets included, custom mould sizes made to your packing profile. Runs directly downstream of any braiding machine and feeds straight into cutting, coiling or ring preforming.

Four Rolls, Two Direction Pressures

Four-roll configuration means the braid is pressed from two opposing directions at the same time. Cross-section comes out square on all four faces in one pass — no secondary flipping, no ovality left on the bottom face.

1.5

1.5 kW Motor for Higher Volume

Rated at 1.5 kW, the KXT-4PC runs faster and holds torque better than the 2-roll KXT-2PC. Suited to sealing manufacturers braiding full shifts and needing output to match.

12

Moulds Included

Twelve standard mould sets in the box. Extra sizes or non-standard profiles made to your drawing on request.

3–40

Cross-Section Range

3 mm valve-stem packing up to 40 mm agitator and mixer shaft packing, all on the same machine.

0.9

m² Floor Footprint

0.9 × 0.8 m — same compact footprint as the 2-roll unit, so it slots into an existing line without re-layout.

Where the KXT-4PC Fits in a Braiding Line

The four-roll calender is usually the second machine after a braider. Pair it with an 18-carrier square braider or a 32-carrier square braider for medium to large cross-sections, then feed the shaped packing into cutting, coiling or ring preforming. For a smaller cross-section line, the 2-roll packing calender does the same job at 1.1 kW. If you are comparing both, the deciding factor is usually throughput and the tolerance you need on the bottom face of the cross-section.

KXT-4PC vs KXT-2PC — Choosing the Right Calender

Both machines shape finished braided packing. The difference is how many rolls apply pressure and where the tolerance ends up.

How the KXT-4PC Runs in Your Line

01 Braid

Braider produces the raw packing — slightly oval, soft, over-sized.

02 Infeed

Braid feeds continuously into the KXT-4PC at the target cross-section mould.

03 Four-Roll Shape

Four rolls press the braid from two directions, forming all four faces in one pass.

04 Finish

Shaped packing exits at uniform cross-section and density, ready for cutting or coiling.

05 Ship

Coiled, boxed and shipped to customers with a single, repeatable specification.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 4-Roll Packing Calender used for?

The KXT-4PC shapes and sizes finished braided gland packing after braiding. Four rolls press the braid from two opposing directions, so the cross-section comes out square and consistent on all four faces in a single pass. It is used by sealing manufacturers who braid their own packing and need a repeatable, install-ready profile before shipping.

What is the difference between a 2-roll and a 4-roll packing calender?

The 2-roll KXT-2PC presses the braid between a top and bottom roll — a good result for most standard packing. The 4-roll KXT-4PC adds two more rolls on the other axis, so the braid is shaped evenly on all four faces in one pass. That gives tighter cross-section tolerance and higher throughput, which matters when you are running a large braiding line or producing precision packing.

What cross-section range does KXT-4PC handle?

The working range is 3 mm to 40 mm finished cross-section — the same as the 2-roll model. This covers small valve-stem packing up to large agitator and mixer shaft packing on the same machine.

How many moulds are included, and can I order custom sizes?

Twelve standard mould sets are supplied with every KXT-4PC. Additional mould sizes or non-standard profiles can be ordered to match your existing packing catalogue or a specific customer drawing.

What packing materials can it shape?

PTFE, graphite, graphite PTFE, aramid, carbon fibre, Kynol and most synthetic fibre braided packing. Roll pressure is set per mould size and runs unchanged across the whole production batch.

What is the power supply and machine footprint?

380 V, 50 Hz, 1.5 kW motor. Overall size is approximately 0.9 × 0.8 × 1.8 m (L × W × H), net weight around 200 kg. Other voltages can be built on request.

How do I request a quotation?

Send your required voltage, the number and size of extra moulds, the packing types you produce, the quantity of calenders and your destination port. Kaxite replies within 24 hours with an FOB Ningbo quotation, lead time and packing details.
