Four Construction Styles

Each style targets a specific combination of flange type, temperature, pressure, and chemical environment. The comparison below helps buyers select the right construction before requesting a quote.

KXT 900Double Jacketed Gasket

Metal jacket formed around a soft filler, with filler completely enclosed in a two-piece metal jacket.

High Temp / High Pressure

Designed for high temperature and high pressure service, or where corrosion problems may exist. Complete metal enclosure protects the filler from blow-out and chemical attack.

KXT 910Single Jacketed Gasket

Soft filler core partially enclosed by a metal jacket.

Medium to High Pressure

Used primarily for small diameter openings with narrow flanges. Recommended for medium to high pressure and temperature range.

KXT 920Corrugated Jacket Gasket

Soft filler core completely enclosed by a corrugated metal shell and washer.

High Pressure Oil Industry

Recommended for service under the high pressures and temperatures often encountered in the oil industry.

KXT 940Overlap Single Jacket Gasket

Filler material totally enclosed in a one-piece metal jacket with overlap construction.

One-Piece Full Enclosure

Provides complete filler protection while retaining the flexibility of a single jacket construction. Suitable for medium pressure and temperature service.

Style KXT 940 — Overlap Single Jacket Gasket (filler totally enclosed in a one-piece metal jacket)

Why Buyers Choose Stamping Jacket Gaskets

High Temperature Capability

The metal jacket and graphite or non-asbestos filler withstand high operating temperatures, well beyond the limits of standard elastomeric or PTFE gaskets.

Easy to Handle and Install

Rigid metal jacket resists handling damage. The gasket stays flat, positions easily on the flange, and resists blow-out during installation.

Economical Choice

Low price compared to other high-temperature gasket types such as spiral wound or ring joint. Cost-effective for large diameter flanges and heat exchangers.

Suitable for Narrow Flanges

Compact construction fits narrow flange widths where other gasket types cannot be accommodated.

Good Blow-Out Resistance

Metal jacket mechanically contains the filler under pressure, resisting blow-out even during rapid pressure changes.

Wide Material Choice

Choose from 9 jacket materials and 3 filler materials to match the specific process media and operating conditions.

Typical Applications

Heat Exchangers Autoclaves Pressure Vessels Boilers and Flues Valve Bonnets Pumps Gas Mains General Flanged Connections

Jacket and Filler Material Selection

The right combination of jacket and filler determines sealing performance, chemical resistance, and service life. The table below summarizes standard Kaxite offerings.

Component Standard Materials Typical Service
Jacket Soft iron, steel, SS304, SS316, SS321, SS410 General industrial, chemical, high-temperature service
Jacket Brass, copper, monel Corrosive media, non-magnetic or specialty environments
Filler Non-asbestos General industrial service, steam, oil, water
Filler Graphite High temperature, steam, petrochemical service
Filler PTFE Chemical, food, pharmaceutical service
Buyer note: Jacket material must be compatible with the process media and softer than the flange material to prevent flange damage. For high-temperature steam or petrochemical service, graphite filler with SS316 or SS321 jacket is commonly specified. For chemical service, PTFE filler with SS316 jacket is preferred. FAQ: Stamping Jacket Gasket

What is a Stamping Jacket Gasket?

A Stamping Jacket Gasket is a metal-jacketed gasket manufactured by a stamping machine with a soft filler core enclosed in a metal jacket. The metal jacket protects the filler from chemical attack and blow-out, while the soft filler provides sealing resilience. It is available in single jacket, double jacket, corrugated jacket, and overlap single jacket styles.

What is the difference between Single Jacket and Double Jacket Gaskets?

A Single Jacketed Gasket has the filler core partially enclosed by a metal jacket, and is used primarily for small diameter openings with narrow flanges at medium to high pressure and temperature. A Double Jacketed Gasket has the filler completely enclosed in a two-piece metal jacket, and is designed for high temperature and high pressure applications, or where corrosion problems exist. See also Double Jacketed Gasket for the standard fully-enclosed version.

What materials are available for Stamping Jacket Gaskets?

Standard jacket materials include soft iron, steel, SS304, SS316, SS321, SS410, brass, copper, and monel. Standard filler materials include non-asbestos, graphite, and PTFE. Material selection depends on the operating temperature, pressure, and process media.

Which applications suit Stamping Jacket Gaskets?

Stamping Jacket Gaskets are widely used in heat exchangers, autoclaves and other pressure vessels, boilers and flues, valve bonnets, pumps, gas mains, and general industrial flanged connections. For high-pressure service, the corrugated jacket style (KXT 920) is often preferred.

What are the advantages of Stamping Jacket Gaskets?

Stamping Jacket Gaskets offer high temperature capability, are easy to handle and install, are economical compared to other high-temperature gasket types, are suitable for narrow flanges, and provide good blow-out resistance.

Can Stamping Jacket Gaskets be customized?

Yes. Kaxite produces Stamping Jacket Gaskets in standard flange sizes and custom dimensions to drawing. Non-standard jacket materials, filler combinations, thickness, and partition bar configurations can be supplied on request.

What information is needed for a Stamping Jacket Gasket quotation?

Please provide the gasket type (single jacket, double jacket, corrugated jacket, or overlap jacket), flange size and standard, jacket material, filler material, operating temperature and pressure, process media, quantity, and any certification requirement. A drawing or sample helps us confirm faster.
