White PTFE Packing with Aramid Corners — Multi-Yarn Braided Packing for Abrasive Slurry, Chemical, Water & Steam Service

White PTFE Packing with Aramid Corners manufactured by Kaxite Sealing
White PTFE Packing with Aramid Corners — aramid yarn corners for strength and abrasion resistance, PTFE yarn friction faces for low friction and chemical resistance.

White PTFE Packing with Aramid Corners is a multi-yarn braided packing engineered to combine the strength of aramid fiber with the chemical resistance and low friction of pure PTFE. The corners of the packing are made from aramid fiber yarns impregnated with PTFE, while the friction faces are made of pure PTFE yarns. This structure enhances the lubrication of the aramid fiber and improves the mechanical strength of the PTFE, making the packing extremely durable and abrasion resistant in difficult sealing applications — including abrasive sand, slurry and other gritty media, as well as water, steam, solvents and most chemicals. It can be additionally lubricated with silicone oil on request.

What Is White PTFE Packing with Aramid Corners?

White PTFE Packing with Aramid Corners is a multi-yarn braided packing in which two different fiber yarns are combined in one braid. The corners of the packing are made from aramid fiber yarns impregnated with PTFE. The friction faces — the surfaces that contact the shaft or stem — are made from pure PTFE yarns. This hybrid construction is the key to the packing's performance: the aramid corners provide high tensile strength and extrusion resistance, while the PTFE faces provide low friction, chemical inertness and a smooth sealing surface against the shaft.

Because aramid fiber alone has limited lubrication and PTFE alone has limited mechanical strength, combining them in a single braid allows the packing to handle duties that would defeat either material on its own. The packing is extremely durable and abrasion resistant, making it well suited for difficult sealing applications such as abrasive sand, slurry and other gritty media. It is also compatible with most chemicals, water, steam, solvents and oils, so it is widely used as a general-purpose packing for pumps and valves in chemical plants, refineries, pulp and paper mills, and other process industries. The packing can be additionally lubricated with silicone oil when a lower break-in friction is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the construction of White PTFE Packing with Aramid Corners?
It is a multi-yarn braided packing. The corners of the packing are made from aramid fiber yarns impregnated with PTFE, and the friction faces (the surfaces contacting the shaft or stem) are made from pure PTFE yarns. This hybrid construction combines the strength and abrasion resistance of aramid fiber with the low friction and chemical inertness of PTFE.
What pressure and temperature can this packing handle?
The packing handles up to 40 bar in rotary pumps, up to 150 bar in reciprocating pumps, and up to 250 bar in static sealing applications. Rotary speed is up to 22 m/s. The temperature range is −100 °C to +280 °C, and the pH range is 2–12. Density is 1.4 g/cm³. Confirm the exact rating against your pump or valve specification and process medium.
What is the difference between this packing and plain Aramid Fiber Packing?
Plain Aramid Fiber Packing is braided entirely from aramid fiber yarns. White PTFE Packing with Aramid Corners uses aramid fiber only at the corners, with pure PTFE yarns on the friction faces. The hybrid construction provides lower friction against the shaft and better chemical resistance than plain aramid packing, while retaining the strength and extrusion resistance that aramid provides. It is particularly well suited to abrasive media where shaft wear must be controlled.
Can you supply custom cross-sections and die-formed rings?
Yes. Standard square cross-sections range from 3 mm × 3 mm to 25 mm × 25 mm, with custom sizes available on request. We also supply die-formed rings and pre-cut lengths to your drawing. Send your size, quantity and application details and we will confirm tooling and lead time.
What are your MOQ, lead time and payment terms?
There is no minimum order quantity on standard sizes — sample and trial orders are welcome. Stock sizes ship in 7–15 days; custom braiding takes 15–25 days. Standard payment terms are 30% T/T deposit with the balance against copy of B/L, or L/C at sight for larger orders.
Do you supply material certificates?
Yes. Every batch is supplied with a material certificate covering fiber grade, braid density, PTFE impregnation weight, temperature range and pH range, plus a dimensional inspection report. Third-party inspection can be arranged on request.
