Temperature Envelope — Where the Tape Actually Operates

650 °C — Lower Band Typical low-end service: continuous insulation, general cable wrap. Wire reinforcement holds shape at the lower band without stress from thermal expansion.
800–1000 °C — Working Band The bulk of CF104-I cable and pipe wrap applications. Wire reinforcement carries the woven structure through repeated thermal cycling in this band.
1000–1260 °C — Upper Band Reserved for CF104-AI fireproofing and high-temperature insulation where the aluminum foil adds reflective shielding. Confirm the exact upper limit against your service condition.

The plain ceramic fiber tape reinforced with a metallic wire (Inconel or stainless steel). The wire is woven into the tape so the structure does not unravel at the edge under vibration or repeated thermal expansion — the failure mode that shortens the life of unreinforced woven ceramic tape.

What the Reinforcement Actually Does — Layer by Layer
CF104-I — Woven Ceramic Fiber + Wire The ceramic fiber provides the high-temperature insulation. The metallic wire — Inconel for the highest service, stainless steel for standard duty — is woven through the structure so the tape holds its shape under vibration and thermal cycling. Without the wire, an unreinforced ceramic tape edge frays in service.
CF104-AI — Woven + Wire + Aluminum Foil Adds a layer of aluminum foil on top of the wire-reinforced ceramic fiber base. The foil reflects radiant heat and makes the tape visually identifiable in fireproofing work. This is the construction that replaces asbestos tape in thermal insulation — same function, no asbestos content.
