Mineral Fiber Rubber Gasket

Mineral Fiber Rubber Gasket

Model:KXT 1500
KXT-1500 mineral fiber rubber gaskets are die-cut from non-asbestos mineral fiber + NBR rubber sheet, rated to 2.0 MPa and 200°C for continuous service. The oil-resistant grade is specified for engine sealing, heat installations and flange joints where asbestos-free compliance is mandatory. Custom OD up to 1500 mm; bulk and OEM supply direct from Kaxite.

Kaxite KXT-1500 Mineral Fiber Rubber Gasket is a non-asbestos compressed fiber sheet gasket engineered as a direct replacement for legacy asbestos jointing in low-to-medium pressure flange, engine and heat-installation sealing. The sheet is built from mineral fiber reinforcement, NBR rubber binder, inorganic fillers and process dye, calendered under heat and pressure into a dense, uniform sheet, then die-cut or custom-machined to your flange geometry.

Why Buyers Specify KXT-1500 Mineral Fiber Rubber Gasket Over Asbestos Jointing

Procurement and maintenance teams replacing asbestos-containing gaskets need a material that matches the old sheet’s compressibility and bolt-load retention without the regulatory, labeling and disposal burden of asbestos. KXT-1500 delivers that substitution at an economy-grade cost point: the mineral fiber network provides structural integrity under compressive load, while the NBR binder supplies oil and fuel resistance that plain fiber sheet cannot offer. For buyers running an asbestos phase-out program, this gasket is a drop-in material change on the same flange pattern, with no re-engineering of the joint.

For applications requiring a fully non-asbestos gasket range beyond the KXT-1500 grade, Kaxite also supplies aramid-fiber and glass-fiber compressed sheet variants for higher pressure and steam duty.

Standard and oil-resistant grades share the same 2.0 MPa / 200°C envelope; the KXT-1500OR grade uses a higher NBR ratio in the binder for engine oil, fuel and lubricant contact. For higher temperature or pressure service, refer to the non-asbestos gasket range or contact the technical desk with your operating conditions.

Binder Selection Guide — NBR, SBR, Neoprene, EPDM

The rubber binder determines which media the gasket can handle. KXT-1500 is supplied with an NBR binder as standard for the broadest oil/gas/water coverage; alternate binders are available for specific process streams.

Binder Best For Typical KXT-1500 Application
NBR (standard) Oils, fuels, mild chemicals, water, gas Engine sealing, oil-line flanges, general MRO
SBR Saturated steam, mild chemicals, inert gas, water Low-pressure steam and water joints
Neoprene Saturated steam, refrigerants, oils, fuels, mild acids and alkalis Mixed chemical / refrigeration service
EPDM Saturated steam, mild chemicals, water Steam and hot-water installations

For gaskets that must perform in high-temperature steam or aggressive chemical flanges, the spiral wound gasket range or graphite-based sheet may be the more suitable specification; the KXT-1500 is optimized for the economy-to-mid duty range where asbestos was historically used.

Where KXT-1500 Mineral Fiber Rubber Gasket Is Used

This gasket is a static-sealing component, not a dynamic seal. It is specified across:

Chemical and process plants — flange joints on mild-chemical, water and low-pressure steam lines. Power generation — low-pressure water and steam flanges, access covers, heat-exchanger heads. Oil refining and engine sealing — the oil-resistant grade is used on engine joint faces and lubricant-line flanges where NBR binder compatibility is required. Paper, pharmaceutical and food-industry equipment — non-asbestos compliance is often a prerequisite for supplier approval. Marine and shipping — low-pressure flange connections where asbestos-free materials are mandated by port and yard regulations.

Procurement note: If you are converting an existing asbestos gasket to KXT-1500, send the original gasket OD, ID, bolt circle and thickness — Kaxite will match the geometry to ASME, DIN, JIS or JPI flange patterns and supply a material certificate with the batch.

Bulk Supply, Custom Cutting and Factory Quote

KXT-1500 is manufactured at Kaxite’s Ningbo facility and supplied factory-direct for bulk MRO, OEM and project procurement. Standard sheet thicknesses are held in stock for fast die-cutting; custom OD up to 1500 mm, non-standard bolt patterns and water-jet or CNC profiling are available against drawing. For buyers consolidating multiple sealing items, the sheet can be combined with compression sheet and braided packing lines in a single factory shipment.

Handling and Asbestos-Phase-Out Reference

KXT-1500 is non-asbestos and does not carry the labeling, respiratory protection or double-bag waste-disposal requirements associated with asbestos-containing gaskets. If you are removing an old asbestos gasket as part of the changeover, follow local asbestos-handling regulations for the removed material: wet the area, avoid dry scraping, and dispose of debris in accordance with jurisdiction-specific rules. The KXT-1500 replacement itself is handled as a conventional compressed fiber sheet.

Need a Different Grade or a Full Flange Kit?

If the operating envelope exceeds 2.0 MPa / 200°C, or if the joint requires fire-safe or high-integrity sealing, review the spiral wound gasket and graphite sheet options, or send the duty conditions directly to the Kaxite technical desk. For combined gasket + packing + sheet orders, the factory can consolidate shipment against a single PO.
