Continuous working temperature 250 °C. Density 1.36–1.37, flexural strength 1660 kg/cm², compressive strength > 155 kg·cm/cm², friction factor 0.24, hardness HB 23, PV value 20–30 m·kg/mm²·S. Available as thin film, reinforced plastic molded parts, high-vacuum self-lubricating bearings, high-temperature electrical parts and radiation-resistant components. When blended with PTFE and graphite, polyimide serves as an oilless lubricating material for high-speed compressors — piston rings, seal rings and axle rims.
